DESCRIPTION:
There is nothing at all average about this beautiful necklace! This piece of Native American jewelry is Navajo, by artist Albert Smith, hand strung out of genuine sterling silver and Malachite beads. The necklace consists of: 3-mm and 9-mm silver round beads and 8-mm Malachite round beads. Each end of the necklace is completed with a silver cone and bead for a stunning finish. The cones are stamped sterling. The pendant is stamped .925 (sterling) and hallmarked by the artist.
Malachite is famous for its radial banding and deep green color. Popular today for use in Southwestern style jewelry, malachite was also popular in the past with the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans. It was worn as a good luck charm to keep away danger and illness. It is believed to balance and stabilize ones emotions.
