DESCRIPTION:

This lovely necklace set is a work of art and has everything you could possibly want from a piece of Native American jewelry! This Native American jewelry set is Zuni hand crafted and strung by artist D. Edaakie, out of genuine sterling silver real and real multicolor inlay. The inlay consists of: Turquoise, Coral, Jet, Abalone Shell, along with White and Yellow Mother of Pearl. The inlay is gently set, while creating exquisite bird designs, that include a cardinal, owl, road runner, hummingbird, and blue jay. The necklace is composed of one Naja (the crescent-shaped large center pendant) and double strands of 6-mm silver eccentric beads that are placed at regular intervals among the round side of the center. The Naja is set with ONE inlaid cardinal while each side of the necklace has FOUR inlaid birds. Entire traditional necklace is flexible "not stiff". In Native American history, the roadrunners are believed to lead away the evil spirits. They are a symbol of courage, strength, and endurance. The feathers of the roadrunners are tied to horses' tails to lead the evil spirits away. Hummingbirds are mainly known to be defenders of their territory. Many times stronger than their small size would indicate. The Zuni and Keres Pueblo tribe believe that the Owl is respected as the guise of the spirits of the departed leaders and wise elders. The owl is a skillful, silent hunter that is connected with darkness and night as well as keen eyes. The post earrings have a total of TWO inlaid cardinals (ONE in each earring) that perfectly match the necklace, for an incredible finish to this set! The necklace and earrings are hallmarked by the artist.

Turquoise is the birthstone of December. It is believed that turquoise tends to bring good fortune, strength and helps overcome illness. Turquoise got its name from the Levantine traders called Turks who brought the stone to Europe from Persia via Turkey centuries ago. Native Americans have prized turquoise since the time of the Aztecs, who mined it in New Mexico. The natural variations that occur in turquoise are part of its appeal and beauty.

Corals are known to be very soothing and very protective. Coral is of an organic origin; it is the skeletal remains of marine animals called Coral Polyps. Colonies of these tiny creatures build branching structures as they grow, gradually forming reefs and atolls.

We had to return a couple of rings from our order because we got the wrong size (our fault). The support staff was very helpful in identifying alternatives and the exchange process was simple, fast, and friendly. My wife LOVES the jewelry - high quality and beautiful.

I order the item early for my anniversary. It shipped much faster than I expected and was at my house in 2 days. The pottery was well packed and arrive in perfect condition. The hardest part was hiding the gift for 2 weeks!
