MATERIALS:

Sterling silver and real White Buffalo Turquoise.

MEASUREMENTS:

Ring is size 9, it measures approximately 1-1/4" long and 3/4" wide.

DESCRIPTION:

This lovely ring will definitely attract plenty of attention! This piece of Native American jewelry is Navajo hand crafted by artist Daniel Benally, out of genuine sterling silver and a real White Buffalo Turquoise stone. The stone is delicately placed in a hand cut bezel setting while twisted silver, stamped silver beads, and hand cut silver work can be seen adding style to the ring for a charming finish. The ring is stamped .925 (sterling) and hallmarked.

Turquoise is the birthstone of December. It is believed that turquoise tends to bring good fortune, strength and helps overcome illness. Turquoise got its name from the Levantine traders called Turks who brought the stone to Europe from Persia via Turkey centuries ago. Native Americans have prized turquoise since the time of the Aztecs, who mined it in New Mexico. The natural variations that occur in turquoise are part of its appeal and beauty.

    Very Original Beautiful Ring
Posted by Claudia R. | Reviewing SilverTribe.com | Posted on
I have been interested in native American jewelry since I set my foot on the continent in 1981. I came from Italy, where beautiful jewelry and good food are cultural staples. I was disappointed in the food and the commercial jewelry design of the new world, until I got a job selling native American jewelry. Since then, I began appreciating this art form and cultivating a passion for turquoise stones, especially. I cannot afford to be a collector, therefore I try to buy a few selected pieces, and this ring reflects my taste and style. It is exquisite, the combination of polished and oxidized sterling, the setting of the stones and the turquoise-opal scattering all are very clever. My daughter, who also loves the character of the South West will be asking to borrow it. Thank you.
