You will absolutely fall in love with this stunning necklace set! In this Native American jewelry set, the pendant is Navajo overlay hand crafted by artist Alonzo Mariano, hand strung out of genuine silver and real Turquoise beads. The necklace consists of: 2-mm silver round beads, along with 13-mm Turquoise flat beads. Overlay is a process that utilizes at least two layers of sterling silver. One layer forms the foundation, while the second is used to design the individual detailed overlay. In this pendant, the second layer forms a beautiful Bear, Bear Paw, and Arrow design. Stamped border patterns can be seen accenting pendant for a charming finish. In Native American beliefs, the bear symbolizes physical strength, leadership, and is known as the "first helper". In Native American beliefs, the bear paw is usually considered a way to call for the power of the animal spirit, or as an indication of the presence of the spirit. It is a symbol that represents inner strength. Arrows usually signify direction of travel, force, and movement. The pendant is stamped sterling and hallmarked by the artist.
Turquoise is the birthstone of December. It is believed that turquoise tends to bring good fortune, strength and helps overcome illness. Turquoise got its name from the Levantine traders called Turks who brought the stone to Europe from Persia via Turkey centuries ago. Native Americans have prized turquoise since the time of the Aztecs, who mined it in New Mexico. The natural variations that occur in turquoise are part of its appeal and beauty.
