Sterling Silver, real Turquoise, and Oyster Shell.
The necklace measures approximately 25" long and weighs 130 grams.
This is a very gorgeous necklace that would make a great gift! This piece of Native American jewelry is Navajo hand strung out of genuine sterling silver, Turquoise, and Oyster Shell beads. The necklace consists of: 3-mm, 5-mm, and 12-mm silver round beads, Oyster Shell wheel beads that beautifully graduate, allowing the smallest beads at the end to measure 9-mm and the largest beads in the center to measure 14-mm, Turquoise beads with an average measurement of 15-mm, and a Turquoise bead pendant that measures 1-1/4" long and 1" wide. Each end of the necklace is completed with a silver cone and bead for a beautiful finish. The cones are stamped sterling.
Turquoise is the birthstone of December. It is believed that turquoise tends to bring good fortune, strength and helps overcome illness. Turquoise got its name from the Levantine traders called Turks who brought the stone to Europe from Persia via Turkey centuries ago. Native Americans have prized turquoise since the time of the Aztecs, who mined it in New Mexico. The natural variations that occur in turquoise are part of their appeal and beauty.
