DESCRIPTION:
This is a wonderful piece of Southwestern artistry! The necklace is hand strung out of genuine sterling silver, along with man made multicolor heishi beads. The necklace consists of: 2-mm silver round beads, 2-mm Onyx and Oyster Shell man made heishi beads, and an adorable 25-mm Agate horse bead that makes for a fabulous centerpiece. Each end of the necklace is highlighted with a silver bead and clasp for a gorgeous finish. The clasp is stamped .925.
Heishi is a Pueblo term literally meaning shell; discs or tubes with a hole in the center, usually of turquoise, coral, shell, or other materials, strung together to form a flexible strand, often of graduated size. The Santo Domingo Pueblo people are known for fine heishi.
