MATERIALS:

Sterling silver and real Turquoise.

MEASUREMENTS:

Pendant measures approximately 3-1/8" long (including bail) and 2-1/2" at widest point.

DESCRIPTION:

This is a wonderful piece of Navajo artistry! This piece of Native American jewelry is Navajo hand crafted by artist Sarah Yazzie out of genuine sterling silver and real Turquoise stones. A total of EIGHT stones are delicately placed in hand cut bezel settings, creating a beautiful Naja design. Mini silver beads,  twisted silver, and hand crafted silver flowers highlight the Naja for an outstanding finish. The pendant is stamped .925 (sterling) and hallmarked.

Turquoise is the birthstone of December. It is believed that turquoise tends to bring good fortune, strength and helps overcome illness. Turquoise got its name from the Levantine traders called Turks who brought the stone to Europe from Persia via Turkey centuries ago. Native Americans have prized turquoise since the time of the Aztecs, who mined it in New Mexico. The natural variations that occur in turquoise are part of its appeal and beauty.

    Native Kinship
Posted by Cynthia A. | Reviewing SilverTribe.com | Posted on
. . .I don't even know when it all began; but I believe I have ALWAYS possessed a kinship with Native American culture. . .Everything about the culture (old and new) has been an inspiration for me, especially the jewelry aspect. .Without jewelry, I feel incomplete. .it is an extension of myself. .I regard it as a very sacred tradition . . .Each piece of jewelry I own is sacred. .many of which, I can recall where and when it came into my possession. . .The purchase I made recently with SILVER TRIBE is quite impressive (stunning earrings!!) and I have no doubt it is the first of many (I hope!!) ????????????????. .Thank You SilverTribe. . .
