The necklace consists of: 3-mm and 4-mm silver round beads, 6-mm Amazonite round beads, 10-mm Labradorite round beads, 8-mm Opalite round beads, and a 51-mm Anden Opal free formed centerpiece. Each end of the necklace is highlighted with a silver bead and cone for a charming finish. The cones are stamped sterling.
Most people know Opal for its distinctive play of color, it is a semi-transparent solidified mineral composed of silicon and water, and it gets its name from the Latin word "Oplus" meaning precious stone. Opal is the birthstone for October. It is believed to release self-consciousness allowing spontaneous action, and awakens psychic and mystical qualities.
