This piece of Southwest style jewelry is hand strung bead by bead by American artist Caitlin Cooper out of genuine sterling silver, along with real multicolor beads. Cooper is known to create gorgeous pieces that depict the great Southwest. The necklace consists of: 2-mm, 5-mm and 7-mm silver round beads, 6-mm Carnelian round beads, 12-mm Fire Agate round beads, 7-mm Rhyolite flat beads, along with a beautiful 32-mm Rhyolite flat bead for a fabulous look! Each end of the necklace is accented with a silver bead and cone for a perfect finish. The cones are stamped sterling.

Carnelian is the birthstone of August. It increases energy, and adds endurance along with encouragement. It is also believed to still the blood and calm the temper. Carnelian is a flesh-red to brown-red, translucent to opaque type of chalcedony. Its red comes from iron within the stone.
