DESCRIPTION

There is nothing at all average about this beautiful ring! This piece of Native American jewelry is Zuni hand crafted by artist Joan Cooyate, out of genuine sterling silver and man made Blue Opal stones. This ring has a total of FOUR stones that are gently placed in hand cut bezel settings forming a magnificent butterfly design, while being accented by twisted silver and mini silver beads for a fabulous finish.

Most people know Opal for its distinctive play of color, it is a semi-transparent solidified mineral composed of silicon and water, and it gets its name from the Latin word "Oplus" meaning precious stone. Opal is the birthstone for October. It is believed to release self-consciousness allowing spontaneous action, and awakens psychic and mystical qualities.

    Native Kinship
Posted by Cynthia A. | Reviewing SilverTribe.com | Posted on
. . .I don't even know when it all began; but I believe I have ALWAYS possessed a kinship with Native American culture. . .Everything about the culture (old and new) has been an inspiration for me, especially the jewelry aspect. .Without jewelry, I feel incomplete. .it is an extension of myself. .I regard it as a very sacred tradition . . .Each piece of jewelry I own is sacred. .many of which, I can recall where and when it came into my possession. . .The purchase I made recently with SILVER TRIBE is quite impressive (stunning earrings!!) and I have no doubt it is the first of many (I hope!!) ????????????????. .Thank You SilverTribe. . .
