There is nothing at all average about this beautiful necklace! This piece of Native American jewelry is Navajo hand strung by artists Thomas (Tommy) and Rose Singer out of genuine sterling silver, along with real Multicolor beads and a real turquoise stone. The necklace consists of a lovely combination of: 6-mm Turquoise rondelle beads, 4-mm and 7-mm fancy silver beads, along with 6-mm Tiger Eye and Onyx round beads. The necklace consists of THREE links that form marvelous overlay designs. Overlay is a process that utilizes at least two layers of sterling silver. One layer forms the foundation, while the second layer is used to design the individual detailed overlay. In this necklace, the second layer forms stunning water wave and feather designs. The center link has one real Turquoise stone that is carefully placed in a hand cut bezel setting while imprinted designs can be seen accenting and adding style to the necklace. In Native American beliefs, the water waves design represents continuous life. Feathers are symbols of prayers, marks of honor, sources of ideas, and represent the Creative Force. Each end of the necklace is completed with a silver cone for a fabulous look. The necklace is stamped sterling and hallmarked.
Turquoise is the birthstone of December. It is believed that turquoise tends to bring good fortune, strength and helps overcome illness. Turquoise got its name from the Levantine traders called Turks who brought the stone to Europe from Persia via Turkey centuries ago. Native Americans have prized turquoise since the time of the Aztecs, who mined it in New Mexico. The natural variations that occur in turquoise are part of its appeal and beauty.
Onyx is known to be a calming stone. It collects negative energy from you.
