Sterling silver, man made Pink Coral, Sugilite, Malachite and Howlite.
Hook dangle earrings measure approximately 1-7/8" long (including hook) and 3/8" at widest point.
There is nothing at all average about this beautiful pair of earrings! This piece of Native American jewelry is Navajo hand crafted by artist Theresa Joe, out of genuine sterling silver and man made multicolor inlay. The inlay consists of: Pink Coral, Sugilite, Malachite and Howlite. The inlay is delicately set, while imprinted patterns can be seen accenting for an amazing finish. The earrings are stamped sterling and hallmarked.
Howlite is named after its discoverer Henry How. Howlite is known for its great final polish and rich luster. Howlite is often mistaken for "white buffalo" or "white turquoise" due to the similarity of appearance. Howlite is a combination of pure white with black veins; highlighting the beauty and balance of opposites. Howlite has high calcium content for strong healthy bones and teeth. It would make a wonderful gift for a pregnant or nursing mother.
Malachite is famous for its radial banding and deep green color. Popular today for use in Southwestern style jewelry, malachite was also popular in the past with the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans. It was worn as a good luck charm to keep away danger and illness. It is believed to balance and stabilize ones emotions.
